Excuse me, how is my "point about the Pulitzer invalid"? It's completely valid. I also acknowledged his plays are not eligible.
But as I said in another post, I realize I should have chosen 1980, not 1970. I forget how long ago that was, and I think any writer who had Broadway prominence in the 70s is part of a different generation of writers than McDonagh, and not part of the observation I'm making.
Also, yes I was mistaken about Hangman being a Broadway production, though I have absolutely zero doubt that it will transfer especially with the Golden Globe and Oscar nom successes this year. |
