I'm surprised this news didn't get picked up by the theater news sites (except for an article in the Nashville section on BroadwayWorld).
Lari White was a superb singer who had a successful run as a country hitmaker in the '90s (she scored six Top 20 hits). In the 2000s she headed to New York, where she appeared on Broadway in RING OF FIRE and appeared regularly on the cabaret circuit (including "Broadway by the Year" and an engagement at the Algonquin).
She also worked as a producer for other artists (including country superstar Toby Keith), and made acting appearances (including a small but pivotal role in the Toms Hanks movie CAST AWAY).
She died of peritoneal cancer, which was diagnosed just four months ago. She was 52. |
