In Bruges is really fantastic! And I would say underrated, but I feel like everyone who ends up seeing it has loved it, and everyone who's heard of it has heard it's great. But it was/is under-seen (it suffered from a small mid-February release when it came out).
I think it's vastly vastly better than Seven Psychopaths, and I also think it's better than 3 Billboards, which I loved a lot of but also had problems with. I find he is becoming all too good at recycling his own bits and themes and even characters/dramatic set pieces, after having seen most of his plays and all his movies. He's becoming the new Aaron Sorkin... I hope not. |
