I agree about Simon.
And with McNally, I'm sure some people who liked his work or knew he was an acclaimed (to some extent) playwright might have helped encourage them to try a musical they might not have otherwise based on composer or title... but I doubt it would have made a dent in the box office really, or been expected to. |
