I was there Sunday afternoon. At intermission, I texted a producer friend of mine to try to get a ticket.
I think the show, with Darin's name and Groff's name, could do very well as a tour of areas with lots of retirees. I've never been to Lyrics and Lyricists, but this audience seemed to really enjoy the shows, both from the thunderous applause at the end, as well as the reaction to the show (including applause for Bronx Science and a very vocal awww when he (SPOILER) dies.)
As a Broadway show? Not so sure about.
I thought Groff was extremely charming and entertaining, and the music was toe-tapping.
The narration specifically mentioned that some of the arrangements (specifically Artificial Flowers) that Darin preferred were against the nature of the song.
