Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel is challenging writers to come up with a short work inspired by Alfred Jarry's ''Ubu Roi.''
''Ubu Roi'' was a 1896 satire about a despotic king who's involved with murder, genocide and a war on Russia.
Vogel wants the new works to be performed simultaneously at theaters and colleges across the U.S. on Feb. 19, Presidents' Day. |
