Obviously Laurents controlled his own book and Mr Sondheim approved the lyric changes, but chopping the music/dance at the end of the Somewhere Ballet and eliminating the Taunting music, brief as it was, wouldn't that have had to be approved the Bernstein and Robbins estates. Does any one know if there were any problems with that? Could Mr Laurents have made the changes on his own?
