| The contest that year, if you can call it that, was between Kingsley in "Gandhi" and Paul Newman in "The Verdict." I've seen all three movies several times. I think the right decision was made, although Newman is so good in "The Verdict" you can't help but be sorry about the timing. "Tootsie" holds up the least well of the three, but it is still pretty lovable and easily the only one anyone would want to see musicalized(!). I bet Santino will be wonderful. |
