| Yeah. My eye and mind were caught on and alarmed by the same detail in the casting notice... but I do realize they are of course *primarily* concerned with finding Latinx actors who can sing and act very well and are right for these parts in look, quality and age and chemistry with the other actors... if they don't meet those already potentially challenging casting needs, then it doesn't matter how great their dancing is. Cameras and editing can do amazing tricks (though I'd prefer to see the whole body dancing during the dances, unlike Chicago, which was a very lazy trick in my opinion), but also actors who can dance a bit or even not at all can be taught and trained and become much better or capable... i mean, Margot Robbie learned to ice skate really well just to do I, Tonya, so who knows what's possible with lots of money and lots of concentrated time for training. |
