Directed by Kelly Ward, best known of most as Putzie in the film GREASE, but a scion of the San Diego theatrical Wards, and an instructor at USC. His delightful son, Garrett, was at high school and UCSB with my daughter. The cast was obviously young, but Kelly had prepared them well for one of Sondheim's most challenging works.
I even remember the show's logo, which Kelly devised: a wall of photos (echoing that lyric) of the cast's various couples,,with Bobby in the foreground, seen from the rear, looking at them. You can't see his face, but those candids are smilng back.
