| I've always thought it would be of tremendous historical interest if we could get to see all of the lyrics that Bernstein wrote for WSS as he originally wrote them, so we would then be able to tell which sections Sondheim rewrote and which sections he wrote outright. I think I have only heard/read this done for a few small sections, including a couple of lines in "Maria" that were definitely improved by Sondheim. |
