The Ripley and Skinner joint nomination made sense to me because a great deal of the effectiveness of both their performances was the way they physically worked together to created the illusion of being attached to each other without the use of special costumes. I can see where someone would disagree, but to me, nominating them separately would be like giving a medal to just one synchronized swimmer.
