| My vote for best theory would be that the film likely needs some serious restoration, and that that cost, coupled with the fact that there is a very small audience for the film makes it a non-starter. I think we lucked out that so many musicals were restored and released in the last twenty years because the DVD market is essentially vanishing. There isn't going to be much money made in digital downloads for something like this, and so I doubt we see much that hasn't been released already come available. |
