| When tickets for the Encores production went on sale, City Center had the entire clip of "One in Love with Amy" on their website. It was definitely restored and looked better than any print I've ever seen. The film features most of the score, including full versions of some numbers that are truncated on the very enjoyable '58 London cast recording. I agree with you about McLerie -- she's very good in the her scenes. It's really a shame that Warner Bros. didn't think to cast the young Joel Grey in the title role, who was the right age, a contract player with their studio at the time, and was dynamite in some numbers in a couple of early 50's Warners musicals. |
