| THE GREEN ROOM 42 CELEBRATES ITS FIRST BIRTHDAY WITH THE RETURN OF THE TONY AWARD WINNING STAR OF “THE LIFE” AND MORE LILLIAS WHITE IN HER NEW SHOW “BABY-MAKIN’ MUSIC” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 at 7:00 PM Broadway’s newest intimate concert venue – has announced the return of Tony Award winner Lillias White one year after she performed for the grand opening of The Green Room 42 with her new show “Baby-Makin’ Music” on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00 PM. Her brand new evening of music will feature songs from Broadway, blues, R&B and pop. Selections include classics from Harold Arlen, Ashford & Simpson and Irving Berlin, in addition to original songs by Timothy Graphenreed, the show’s musical director, who leads an all-star quartet. LILLIAS WHITE, the Tony and Emmy award winning singer and actress of stage, screen and television brings her incomparable talent back to The Green Room 42 to create a first birthday celebration and Valentine’s Day to remember. Admired for her work on Broadway musicals, and called “incredible and heart wrenching” by BroadwayWorld.com, she began winning awards from her debut performance in Barnum and has continued to receive well deserved accolades ever since, recognized with an Obie for Romance in Hard Times, a Drama League Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Dreamgirls, both a Tony and Drama Desk award for Featured Actress in Cy Coleman’s The Life, and a nomination for her work as Funmilayo in Fela Kuti’s Fela! Other stellar accomplishments on the stage include Cats, Once on This Island, Carrie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Hair, Funny Girl and Chicago. Ms. White also won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance in Children’s and Family television for her work on Sesame Street and has provided the voice of Calliope in the Disney animated series Hercules. Her feature film roles include Pieces of April with Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. On television she’s had memorable roles on “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Gotham,” and “Person of Interest.” She’s most recently made a splash in the role of Fat Annie on the acclaimed Netflix series “The Get Down.” Lillias White will perform “Baby-Makin Music” at The Green Room 42 (570 Tenth Avenue at 42nd Street, on the 4th Floor of Yotel) on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:oo PM. Cover charges are $35 with $75 premium tickets (which include a signed poster, meet & greet and preferred seating). There is no food and drink minimum.
