I did like it more than you. I did think Scott cox is very good (he'd make a great Nathan lane in upcoming it's only a play). I did find the second act a little preachy and the friend getting hiv was really a wrong path to take that really was almost dropped as soon as the scene was over. Clearly, he wouldn't be on PrEP since he had a long term boyfriend, but was PrEP even discussed in this play at all. If the playwright really wanted to be current, that would be a direction the play could take in the second act showing that organizations like act up might even become more obsolete (and harder to fund raise) as even monogamous couples might want to be on it.
I did like it a lot more than this bitter earth a few months ago.
There were a few good laughs, but this was not a comedy unless it was up for a golden globe since movies like I, Tanya, baby driver and lady bird are considered comedies with only a few laughs. |
