| The formal ideas are exciting, but this play amounts to not much. TOO BAD. Very disappointing because the characterizations unfolded in unpredictable and highly crafted ways for the first half. The audience is waiting with baited breath for the emotional revelations that this clever, finely observed, unfolding promises- and then it goes no where, ends up shallow and very unsatisfying, but self-satisfied. Felt like there is a lot of knowledge here but not much to actually say. |
