| More specifically, my understanding is that computers will allow a specific number of DVD region changes before locking permanently on the last region played. I think the number was five region changes, but anyone playing around with regions should do some research. One option for those with an older working computer is to dedicate that one to, say, playing Region 2 dvds, or use up its changes. Personally, I bought a code-free DVD player, which was relatively cheap, as mentioned. There also apparently are ways to hack regular DVD players to play all regions, but I didn't look into that. But if you have only ever played the same region, there's no risk of locking-it's changing regions that triggers the locking countdown. |
