| I saw it and enjoyed it. I recognized its ambition and felt that Tonya Pinkins was giving one of the best performances in a musical I had seen. However, I just didn't warm to it. On paper, it was the sort of show that was tailor made for me, but I didn't emotionally connect to it in the theatre. It felt distant. I've never revisited through the cast recording, your post has encouraged me to do so. |
