  • Last week, which ended February 4, Broadway grosses totaled $24,869,635 for 26 shows.

In the prior week, which ended January 28, Broadway grosses totaled $27,522,912 for the same 26 shows.

In the comparable week last year, Broadway grosses totaled $21,078,313 for 21 shows.

  • Broadway had a bad winter week with overall grosses dropping just under 10% from the prior week. Cold weather and the Super Bowl weekend probably didn't help. In fact, the week was not that much better better than the comparable week a year ago when only 21 shows, instead of the current 26, were on the boards.

24 of those 26 shows were down last week from the prior week, very often by six figures.

This week will likely be worse with Springsteen on Broadway on hiatus. He'll return in 3 weeks on February 28.

  • The Children closed at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Sunday after a limited not-for-profit engagement of 15 previews and 63 regular performances. This critically-acclaimed Manhattan Theatre Club presentation of a Royal Court Theatre production that transferred from London had a cumulative gross of $2,390,093 and played to 82% of capacity.
