| I only know the show through it's cast recording. Like you I owned the LP and loved the score. Burke's songs do an excellent job of musicalizing the wonderful characters of The Quiet Man. Unfortunately I've never seen a staging of Donnybrook!. Some years ago when I tried to catch a performance of Irish Rep's revival, I made the mistake of not purchasing a ticket in advance. As things turned out every performance that I had an open slot to attend was sold out. I love Susan Johnson and she doesn't disappoint on this recording. This is an outstanding cast recording. You are really going to enjoy it. |
