In reply to: Will the Lyric box office sell tickets after verified fan access code pre-sale? - ksd 06:59 pm EST 02/06/18

From the show's website

From February 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM ET, further tickets will be released as and when available. These tickets will not require an Access Code to purchase. Please return to this page from 10:30 AM ET on Thursday, February 8 to join the ‘Virtual Waiting Room’ for the best chance to purchase tickets when they are released. Queue numbers will be randomly assigned to those in the Virtual Waiting Room.

You can join the Virtual Waiting Room any time from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM; it will not affect which Queue Number you receive. The randomization of the Queue at 11:00 AM is to enable the purchase of tickets to be fair as possible, and to protect our customers from bots and ticket scalpers.

If you join the Queue after 11 AM when tickets are released, Queue numbers will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

This process intrigues those of us with zero interest in this production.

I'm old enough to remember the similar fervor around Nicolas Nickleby, the thrilling event of its day. We had no such option. It was just hit the box office. I can't imagine going through all of these steps, but then I just don't have the interest in Potter-mania. Never got the films, well done thought they are; they all seemed long and too busy by half for my taste. They wore me out. I've talked to people who will hock everything to see this production. The script is available, and sells well. I'll be curious about the future of this material, how it will move on past these initial stagings, if that's even allowed.

The process is doing a lot to kill my interest in the production. Having to jump through hoops for the chance to "win" an opportunity to spend $800 on a pair of tickets does not sit well with me.

I think, but can't be sure, the poster was asking about the in-person box office at the Lyric Theatre.

Thanks Ann. I am asking about in-person box office sales.

Not being a huge Harry Potter fan, I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars for this.

So, I bought one of the cheap $40 in row M of the Dress Circle.

Looking at all the published seating charts, the Dress Circle of the lyric ends at Row G.

Did they add 6 more rows for Harry Potter?

You made a great purchase! I'm paying $130 to sit in the row right in front of yours!
