HARRY POTTER **regular** ONSALE TOMORROW - HELP, VERIFIED FOLK!!
Posted by: tHBG 04:26 pm EST 02/07/18

So I'm going to waste my time trying to get tix when they go onsale to the general public tomorrow.

For those lucky enough to have gotten a verified code and battled Ticketmaster already, any advice/suggestions for success tomorrow? Really appreciate any help.

Thanks!

I will be in NYC in March. Any chance I could go to the box office and just buy tickets- don't even care when. Could be a year from then. Then I would plan a trip around that date. Will the box office be selling tickets? Is this a dumb question?

I don’t think it’s a dumb question—I think it will largely depend on if a new block of tickets gets released. Right now pickings are slim and this is the first day of official release. But if you’re only buying a ticket or two, and you don’t care when it’s for, you might luck out. Or maybe a house seat will open up if you’re there on a performance day. Go in with no expectations and you might have a pleasant surprise. Good luck! 🍀

I was on a mobile phone - some people suggested it may be easier than on a computer - and it worked out well. It was quick to look through different dates. Viewing from a mobile phone, March was the first option available and then you could tap the arrow next to March to view the next months and it gives you the dates for the entire month. When you click on a date, it will show the prices. Some may be grayed out so you do not have those as an option. The biggest tip I would say is to go under those prices to where it says something like, "See all price options" - that will tell you specific price points. The area above that gives you a range of prices, so if you click on $80-$165, hoping there may be $80, you could be given $165 tickets and not realize until you are checking out. Good Luck!

I didn't have any trouble - I got in easy and was able to look at multiple dates (I was just disappointed that the same seats were popping up no matter what date I selected).
There is a short wait each time you picked a price point while the site searched for the "best available".
The site suggested dates further out would have a better chance at seats.
Someone else suggested looking for a single ticket also made things easier. I used a laptop and web browser - I couldn't imagine trying to do it on a phone.

Confused by the Instructions for Today

So I'm away an hour earlier than usual to get into this dang queue, and I've only got 18,564 users in front of me, which is approximately 9 full houses, so I suspect I'll actually be able to get a ticket.

However, the instructions have completely confused me--which happens all the time, I'm super literal and no one writes expecting me to parse everything and not make leaps of common sense (which I just can't do!)

"When you reach the front of the queue, the page will refresh, and you may begin to shop for tickets"

So far so good ... I feel like all I have to do is wait on this page, and eventually my shopping experience will begin. However later they say

"Once you enter the site, your spot in line will allow you to shop for 1 hour ... Login to your Ticketmaster account in advance and have the credit card you plan to use in your account."

And that's where I get confused. How and when do I switch over to the web site for Ticketmaster? (I've already opened a second page, navigated to Ticketmaster, and made sure my credit card is up to date--is that all they meant? Or do I somehow have to end up back at Ticketmaster?)

I think (but it's just a guess) that the refreshed page will be on the actual Ticketmaster site. I guess we'll find out soon!

I do like the little bar with a small Harry silhouette walking that measures your approximate wait time--that's a lovely detail. If the play is that thoughtful, it'll be a treat.
