I was very happy to be able to catch the Mint's "Hindle Wakes" just before it goes. Another great play choice and production. Though we may be past the time when it would be common for parents to openly expect/demand what these parents do of their children ("you had sex, so you must get married"), it's not so much in the distant past for people to think this way.
Beautifully staged and cast, this is one of the Mint's big winners, among many, as they present plays that were written even a century ago, but have modern themes that make the plays feel fresh. It runs through the 17th. |
