| Considering how much ENCORES spends on productions now, and the vast number of worthy actual shows they havent gotten around to - WTF are they doing? My list would include REDHEAD, PLAIN AND FANCY, STEEL PIER, I CAN GET IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE, FLORA THE RED MENACE, TAKE ME ALONG, GOLDEN BOY, SALLY and/or SUNNY, ME AND JULIET, LADY IN THE DARK, KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY, I'D RATHER BE RIGHT, any of the top George M Cohan musicals, HUGH SPIRITS, FADE OUT FADE IN, CABIN IN THE SKY, HERE'S LOVE, UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, PARADE , HENRY SWEET HENRY.... | |

| I don't think it's as simple as pointing to shows and saying 'why haven't they gotten around to that yet.' There are a great many issues that go into the selection of an Encores show, not the least of which is getting permission from various estates, who often are holding out for full Broadway representations. That's certainly been the case with the Jerry Herman musicals, as one example, and I know there have been others. I actually think some of the material selected for the "Hey Look Me Over" concert are likely from shows that Encores has not been able to secure the rights to present -- and so this evening of a 'few songs' from each is a sort of compromise with the various rights holders. | |

| Sorry if this is a repeat but Golden Boy and Cabin in the Sky have already been done. Cabin in the Sky was only a few seasons back. Golden Boy maybe in the early 00's. Golden Boy was my favorite discovery at Encores -- wouldn't mind seeing it again. | |
