Howard Miller takes a look at Hey, Look Me Over!:

Hey, Look Me Over!, a revue celebrating the 25th anniversary of New York City Center Encores!, can best be described by quoting the event's on-stage host Bob Martin, known to inveterate musical theater aficionados as their surrogate, "Man in Chair" from The Drowsy Chaperone. Martin, in his guise as the feckless pundit of obscure and underappreciated musicals, pointedly uses the word "uneven" to encapsulate his overall experience as an Encores! subscriber. That comment, one of several affectionately comic pokes at Encores! artistic director Jack Viertel, applies equally to this production. It is, indeed, uneven, despite the participation by many Broadway notables, among them Bebe Neuwirth, Judy Kuhn, Vanessa Williams, and, making what I am pretty sure is his musical debut, Reed Birney. . . .
