STEVEN DIETZ

MARCH 4-25, 2018
AT A.R.T/NEW YORK THEATRES

Oberon Theatre Ensemble (Brad Fryman, Artistic Director) is proud to announce the New York Premiere of HALCYON DAYS, a play by Steven Dietz (Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure) directed by Academy Award Winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman, On Your Feet) in celebration of its 20th Season. HALCYON DAYS will begin performances on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street) for a limited run through March 25, 2018. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 8, 2018. Tickets are available now at oberontheatre.org.

What did it mean to “go viral” before social media? HALCYON DAYS is a shrewd satire exploring what it took to get America behind the 1983 invasion of the western hemisphere's smallest country, Grenada. This eye-opening exploration of the D.C. "spin machine" is a brutally witty and thought provoking behind the scenes look at America's first public relations war.

The cast of HALCYON DAYS includes Rand Guerrero (Betrayal), Ralph Guzzo (The Count of Monte Cristo), William Laney (The Drawer Boy), Chris McFarland (Of Mice and Men), Hannah Jane McMurray (Dirty Dancing National Tour), Sarah O’Sullivan (“Banshee”), Tom Paolino (Everyone’s Carol), and Gameela Wright (“She’s Gotta Have It”).

HALCYON DAYS will feature scenic design by Rebecca Lord-Surrat (Drawer Boy), costume design by Amy Sutton (All the Kids Are Doing It), lighting design by Greg MacPherson (Killer Joe), sound design by Nick Moore (The Drawer Boy), and projection design by Nathan W. Scheuer (A Chorus Line).

Tickets to HALCYON DAYS are $37.50 and are available at oberontheatre.org. Students, seniors, and industry members can purchase tickets for $20 and will be asked to show a valid ID/Union Card at the box office when picking up their tickets.

The performance schedule for HALCYON DAYS is as follows: Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 2:00pm. Exceptions: the performance on Sunday, March 4 will be at 7:30pm, not 2pm. There will be no performance on Tuesday, March 6. There will be additional performances on Monday, March 5 at 7pm and Saturday, March 24 at 2:00pm.
