Just back from Detroit, seeing ROMEO AND JULIET, with ABT. Mistey Copeland as Juliet,Herman Cornejo as Romeo and Jeffrey Cirio as Mercutio. I had seen Miss Copeland once before, in SLEEPING BEATY, All three performers were dazzling, tho my experience with Ballet-going is still on the fingers of two Hands. But I had a question about Curtain Calls, I know Opera does it differently than legit plays and musicals, so, is this the standard?. There was a tableau of the SPOILER ALERT dead star- crossed lovers, then the minor character parts take a bow(No bows for the corps de ballet, &no music )the solo bow for Mercutio(extraordinary) and shared bows for the star crossed lovers, flowers for Juliet. Is this the way it is usually done? Um of Mich student group Dancing Globally was last weeknd, but they all got to take bows.
