IMO a very minor McDonagh piece, though maybe there's a hidden connection to our current socio-political world. I'll have to think about it. Otherwise it just seemed a collection of tired McDonaghian tropes: charming psycho, bumbling Irish drunks, puffed up misanthropes, etc. Acting is excellent all around, and a cleverly designed set squeezed into the Atlantic's smallish stage. I've been hot and cold on his plays, so maybe not the best audience for this one. Seemed like something he either dashed off even faster than his other ones, or found laying around in a stack of unproduced material.
