| I think the same thing when I see Steve Kazee but yes, that was an interesting part of the review. He seems to be advising Kazee to stop suffering so much in the part and play up his natural appeal to women and men in the audience. | |

| Happy to hear that Barks is stepping up to the plate. But I want Kazee to shine more as well. This is definitely sounding better than I expected. | |

| They released a clip of one of Bryan Adams' songs and - while it isn't appropriate to judge an entire score from a brief snippet - this doesn't inspire confidence. | |

| I thought the same thing when I saw that clip yesterday. When you have redundant lyrics like "Everything is different/Everything has changed", you know the lyricist has nothing to say. (It reminds me of a grating lyric from "Defying Gravity": "Something has changed within me/Something is not the same"). Plus they have that hoary rhyme eyes/realize. Ugh. But the reviewer singled this number out as the best song in the show. |

| The melody was nice but the lyrics, not great. But this is a show of pop songs so it is what it is. | |

| Having seen the show on the first preview, that was my feeling for all the songs - the generic lyrics were the primary problem. | |

| That is so true, it isn't appropriate enough to judge an entire score from a brief snippet. I think the song is pleasant enough. It even may have some earworm qualities. | |
