| This is a curious one for me. I know/have known, there was a lot of wind in the sails of this show. When I saw it at the York I found it both amateurish and offensive. Basically playing on all of the most 'sensationalist' aspects of measure for measure, and then diminishing them song by song, line by line. But many seem to have found it 'charming' and ;winning'. This one is a puzzle to me to be sure. | |

| they focus a lot on the 'bed trick' which features in both Measure for Measure and to a differing degree in ALLS WELL ... just sophomoric smuttiness and witless book and lyrics IMHO. Went with 3 friends, all in the buz because we had heard such glowing things - and were totally gobsmacked by what was, in our eyes, a really mediocre show on all levels. | |
