Spongebob Squarepants & Children of A Lesser God - Minor spoilers

Spongebob - The acting, dancing and singing were all superb, from the lead Ethan Slater, to the entire ensemble. Pretty lame set with the exception of the "contraptions" where the balls dropped down a multi-sided ramp which was cool to watch. Plot was really dumb and parts were hard for me to follow (I believe the main plot point is some big boulder comes down from above to destroy part of the town). But the songs were all really high-energy and a ton of fun. Loved Ethan Slater and I think he'll go on to do some really great things. I would totally buy the soundtrack. If you can get a discounted ticket, I would recommend it.

Children of A Lesser God - Absolutely superb. Not sure why there has been such negativity on this board for this show. The leads (and everyone else) are all great and act very well. There is not one weak link in this cast. I liked how the main lead would say his lines rather quickly at a normal conversational pace to keep the evening moving, and he'd ad-lib by changing a few minor words in the text here & there (from what's displayed on the supertitles). His delivery and minor changes really added to the show. There was definite chemistry between him and his wife and I totally believed their kiss. Was nice to see a very talented cast of so many different nationalities too. And of course towards the end, the "outburst" is so poignant to witness. I really believe there will be some Tony nominations for this revival.

I didn’t realize that a movie was planned so that you can buy the soundtrack.

"And of course towards the end, the "outburst" is so poignant to witness."

Saw the original production and it was the first time I openly weeped in a theater.
