| I thought it managed to present its thesis convincingly and entertainingly. A bit like a Capra-esque Mr. Smith or State of the Union for the 21st Century, and unlike Capracorn, this one stings with the seeming insoluability of the present crisis of the corrupting power of money in our political system and its infiltration by lobbyists. The press seemed to pooh-pooh the subject as old hat and nothing new, but I found it all enlightening and depressing in equal measures. The actors were well-cast and impressive and the staging was appropriately cold and obnoxious for events that take place mostly in hotels and chain restaurants. Glad I caught the last performance. |
