| Even though there were many commercials throughout the broadcast, I'm surprised that NBC ended it at 10:23 p.m. They didn't even try to pad it out to 10:30 p.m., let alone 3 hours, with ''exclusive backstage footage'' or interviews. |

| The ads were a blight on an otherwise successful presentation. I could not believe how often the show was interrupted, and once by a commercial featuring Jesus and his wife no less. | |

| Now that they're really getting good at these live productions, hoping they can start convincing advertisers to buy out the show and show with limited/no commercial interruptions. | |

| I don't know if this is still true -- but it is how TV ads were typically run in Germany when I lived there in the 70s. At the same time, the Germans also dub commentary on Pink Panther cartoons. I don't think they will change it in the US... but one can only hope. |

| NBC had them booked until 10:15 for some reason, so they actually ran over a bit. | |
