Daniel Montgomery of GoldDerby.com says John Legend is only missing an Emmy to complete his EGOT.
Legend's got 10 Grammys and an Oscar for co-writing ''Glory'' for ''Selma.'' And a Tony for producing the 2017 revival of ''Jitney.''
Legend could win an Emmy for producing ''Jesus'' in the Special Class Program category (where the Tonys usually compete).
GoldDerby speculates Legend also could be up for Best Actor in a TV Movie/Miniseries and Brandon Victor Dixon, for Supporting Actor.
I just don't see how that happens since ''Jesus'' is neither a TV Movie nor a Miniseries. The category doesn't include variety/concerts.
But Legend and Bareilles could be up a Tony this season: They each contributed a song to the ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' score. |
