| not exactly sure where you live but here in Phoenix this show is done constantly by schools, youth theatres, community theatres and even our big (very good with equity contracts) dinner theatre did it a season or two ago. So while this show may have not been successful on Broadway it seems like it's found a huge life in regional/community theatre. While I agree with some of the other comments that some of the score isn't that great, there are definitely some memorable tunes plus a fun, funny and upbeat story and characters that people clearly know already from the series of films. I saw this on Broadway and I don't know if one of the main reasons it wasn't so successful is because it's basically just a retread of the film, with songs. It lacked the majesty of Lion King and the magic of Beauty and the Beast. |

| The key difference being that Seussical was an original and ambitious musical, rather than just a popular movie on stage with songs. | |
