That's sad if the boy wants to take dance classes. In that case, he's giving his son the very grief that he says he wants to protect him from. And he's creating a bigot in the process. You've got to be carefully taught.

read the HUFF Post article. The boy is 5 years old and apparently has not asked to take dance lessons.

But if his father says anything about it, he's training his kid to look down on boys who take dance classes.

And on homosexuals in general particularly those who may be considered less than "masculine"

You've put this so well.

Perez said in another interview that "thankfully, he doesn't" want to take dance class - which is also problematic. But at least we know the boy hasn't asked to take dance and been denied. He also defends his decision by saying that (to paraphrase) "homosexuality is still a harder life path." To put it as you did, by denying him the option of a dance class "he's giving his son the very grief he says he wants to protect him from."

Being a parent is not about raising the child you want; it's about nurturing and cultivating the best of the child you have.
