I know of very few actors who miss their show to attend the Drama Desks. I have known of some who show up after their show rushing from their theater to (in days gone by) the High School of Performing Arts or to (now) Town Hall. The drama Desk is understanding of the actors' commitments and there is no resentment if they are unable to attend. The viewership is rather limited and little is gained in ticket sales to have an actor miss a performance. The Tonys are a whole different matter.

Thank you for your thoughts, that's really what I was getting at (without wanting to offend the Drama Desks). In addition, Potter has two shows that day. Would they be in for part one but not part two? That sounds crazy. Would they just be out for both? That sounds less crazy, but still kind of strange. I'm also wondering about Tony voters. The Potter performances from May 31 to June 9 have been showing as completely sold out - in the red - for some time now. And it's the only stretch like that. So I'm thinking maybe a lot of voters could be attending or invited to attend that week.

So many variables... smh.
