But I've always understood that the Tony committee has the discretion to place performers where they see fit, petition or not.
Groener and Hamill were below the title of ''Harrigan N' Hart,'' but since they're the title characters, they should've been leads.
For the record, the Drama Desk Awards nominated both Groener and Hamill for Best Actor, alongside Jenkins & Richardson.
And it nominated 4 actors from ''Big River'' for Featured: Auberjonois, Goodman, Gunton and Short. Plus, Nolen from ''Grind.'' |
