| They could have given Eve a Donaldson Award which was a prestigious award and the precursor of the Tonys (since the Tonys weren't very established in 1950 having just started a year or two prior). The Donaldsons overlapped the Tonys for a number of years before being phased out in favor of the Tonys. |
