| My husband and I both considered this a Big Gay Fail. It wouldn't have been possible to see Peters OR Murphy, as their runs didn't overlap. Likewise, Murphy was out of "Dolly" long before "Mean Girls" even started previews. | |

| I'm betting the writers know all this (but most of America doesn't), and they were just going for the joke. It was established in even the trailer for ''Champions'' that Michael is obsessed with Bernadette Peters (see below). At least I found the joke funny. (I've seen worse theater flubs on another NBC show that seem to a-''Rise'' each week.) |
