| One of the kids favorite parts is the naked people! ;) I like how the most talkative little girl (felt sorry for the other two) really takes over and tells Simon why the show is so loud. And the other adult (I don't know who he is) reminds them that "our perspective" (maybe he's from Disney) is the show is about accessibility. His last line is great. |

| People used to joke that Simon falls asleep during the shows he's reviewing, but maybe it's true! He didn't seem to have any idea that there were naked people in the show, and that number is pretty extended. And when she was trying to remind him by describing the scene, he didn't seem to have any glimmer of recollection. And that scene is at the very top of Act II, so if he's asleep there, he's probably asleep in other places. |

| [Simon] didn't seem to have any idea that there were naked people in the show... Just watched the clip and Simon is very aware of the number with "half naked" people. |

| There's a different number with half-naked people. That takes place later, during "Fixer Upper." The half-naked guys are in fact shirtless, while the supposedly completely naked people are actually wearing a skin-colored bodysuit, so the half-naked people are actually more naked than the supposedly completely naked people. | |

| Thanks for setting me straight. Perhaps Simon was confused because the "completely naked people" don't show their "privasies." |

| I don't recall Simon as one of the "sleepers." Barnes was. I also don't recall people joking about Simon. I recall him as a misogynist, a bigot, and a homophobe, but I don't think that was ever a joking matter. | |

| Yes, I think you are right that Barnes was the sleeper and not Simon. | |

| British critic Mark Shenton writes: ''Clive Barnes was, in his final years, notorious for his stalls slumbers while reviewing for the N.Y. Post.'' And from ''David Williamson: Behind the Scenes,'' a 2009 book about the Australian playwright, written by his wife, Kristin Williamson: ''We were invited to an after-theatre party by Clive Barnes, the fearsome theatre critic who had dismissed the Royal Court's production of 'The Removalists' the previous year. ... Later, his wife told me that occasionally, when Clive fell asleep in a play, she would write his review for him.'' |

| I agree, absolutely adorable!! Bright little girls, & loved the way he encouraged their opinions. Really glad he is still working....also one of our last links to legendary 20th century critics. | |

| His adversaries, Pauline Kael of the New Yorker and Andrew Sarris of The Village Voice, have been gone for a long time. So they are mostly forgotten. Kael had a hard edge as well. |

| Kael could be very critical--and very funny--about certain actors' talents, or lack thereof. But never once did she belittle anyone for their physical appearance, or their race. | |
