I totally agree. Its horrible. I also watched the first episode and couldn't watch any more. Having recently directed a production of Spring Awakening I found it bewildering how they choose that to be the core of the "high school musical" they are presenting -- and that they are somehow surprised that others are offended by it and think its inappropriate. And now they set out to "teach them a lesson about tolerance". Really? But that is neither here nor there with regards to the terrible tv this show is, the inconsistency in casting, and the overwrought theatrics.
I'm glad some people seem to be enjoying it - but you can pretty much guarantee this one is getting canceled as soon as they run through their limited season this year. Its currently in NBC's bottom 5 rating-wise, and they never renew anything that low. |
