I did look at Pitt last night. Didn't strike me as a particularly good fit for Sondheim, but I'm not really saying that the guy I suggested — I can't even remember his name unless I want to look back at my post — is a great fit. Really, we do accept these things in bio films and plays. Really, William Daniels, John Cunningham and Patrick Bedford were all a lot better-looking than John Adams. :)
From what I've read it's not clear to me that Sondheim is going to be a character at all, or that if he will have much screen time if he is a character. It might be a bit surprising if WSS is only touched on in passing, but if it's focusing on LB's personal life, that may well be the case. I'm not sure I particularly want to see a movie try to capture the process of creating that show.
Anyway, whoever plays Sondheim would have to look 26-27 if the movie does spend time on WSS. Of course, Sondheim was in LB's life at later times as well, but that would be the longest period in which they were deeply enmeshed in each other's lives. |
