I think there are some interesting things happening in Summer, but it is by no means a can't-miss show. I'm not one who likes to sing and clap along to a club song in a theatre, but if you're one who does, that have at it. But it is by no means a terrible show (although the book is pretty basic).
Mean Girls is actually quite good, especially if you liked the movie. It's easy to dismiss such shows (the same way people couldn't believe that Bring It On was nominated for Best Musical)- but it is definitely worth seeing. Grey Henson alone is worth the ticket.
But if you can get a good orchestra seat to The Band's Visit, go. It's exquisite. |
