I don't think there are any other lyrics that would cause particular controversy other than the brief bit they did cut (a bit awkwardly). I've mentioned that particular passage here a number of times over the years as being problematic in today's climate, but nothing else in the score jumps out at me. Of course, some people will find the show's being a celebration of Israel objectionable enough.
Is there anything else that you think might be a problem?
There is no shortage of performers who would be terrific as Clara, starting with Judy Kaye, Andrea Martin and Alix Korey. |
