| Gotta disagree to a point with you there. I saw it recently and found it, at least half of it, to be like a touring production of shakespeare for high schools - trying to find humor by adding stuff that's completely inappropriate for the text (souther american accents, gay voice, etc) and bizarrely starting in modern dress and then adding more "period" costumes and settings, but not the correct period. And I thought 2 of the actors were excellent, 1 good, and one pretty not good. With 4 actors that's not super impressive. While ultimately i'm glad I saw it and I'm sure it was better, more engaging and emotional than this Dan Sullivan production, I would not say I was mesmerized and I'm can imagine a better production - even in this 4 actor/bare sets version. |
