| (ps. This reminds me of a new Canadian comedy I directed many years ago. It got rave reviews. Variety loved the play and the production. Three years later, the play had a second production in Toronto. Variety said that the director did all that she could, but it just wasn't a very good play. I took the opportunity to remind Variety of its earlier review, and suggested that the problem was likely that the director did a bad production of a perfectly fine play. Or that I was a genius and made a bad play look wonderful 3 years earlier) |
