| This is the second very-low-budget Follies I've seen, and both worked beautifully. It becomes a different show, more intimate, with the focus squarely on the people. And the shows have the great big plus that the larger productions don't have: largely unmiked voices. I think there was some miking in this Follies, but not much, and in the small space you could really hear the singers as they really sound. Some performers weren't as loud and present as they should have been, but plenty were, and it was a real treat. |
