Seems like a cr*p-shoot.
I saw Tony Shaloub’s replacement: it didn’t seem enough of a stand-out role to even win Supporting Actor.
I didn’t see The Spongebob guy, but, against all the theatrical elite’s predispositions, he got RAVES. He must be great.
And Joshua Henry moved me and had me sobbing, but I’ve since been educated that maybe he avoided the deeper and darker dimensions of the character and, in comparison to past Billy’s, maybe he was coasting.
So I think it could go any way.
Same with Carrie Snow and Mrs. Higgins. And the pros and cons around Lauren Ambrose’s Eliza, and, then, was Katrina Lenk really a musical leading lady... lots of dice-rolling.....
